Mother and Daughter Fashion Show Extravaganza Announced

Michigan, USA - Mother of God Chaldean Catholic Church in Southfield, Michigan holds there 3rd annual Mother & Daughter Fashion Show Dinner Extravaganza.  “We want to celebrate the value and bond between mothers and daughters,” says Nadira Kannu, event chairwoman and Mother of God parish council member.  “All communities and cultures rest in the hands of mothers and daughters.  They sacrifice so much for their family and community.  They guide us and give us hope.  It is only fitting that we acknowledge how much we love them.”

Organizers of the event are also seeking nominations for the "Mother of the Year" essay contest.  Their theme this year is "Mama, No One Can Take Your Place". Writers can nominate any special ‘mother’ in their life including their own mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, niece or a friend.

Submission deadline for the event is Sunday, April 20, 2008. The essay should be a maximum of 800 words. All submissions should include your nominee’s name, address and telephone number as well as your own contact information. The winning Mom will be an honored and recognized guest at the 3rd Annual Mother and Daughter Fashion Show Dinner Gala, on May 7th at Shenandoah Country Club.  The winner and essay writer will also receive complimentary tickets to the event.
 
The fashion show gala will be held on May 7, 2008 at Shenandoah Country Club in West Bloomfield, Michigan. Doors open at 5:30 and the fashion show will start at 8:00 p.m. in the evening.  The party will include full course gourmet meal, door prizes, gifts, raffles, dinner show, guest speaker, contest games and more.  Tickets for the event are available at the bargain of only $40.

“We anticipate having well over 500 mothers and daughters to this event,” says Kannu.  “The previous years we sold out in matter of weeks and because of the event is so popular many in the community wanted a bigger venue so more people could attend.  This year we decided to move the show to a bigger place.”

The event also invites families to consider placing their own announcement in the event booklet.  Special praises, memorials, poems, pictures, or messages to loved ones are strongly encouraged.  Businesses interested in advertising can also e-mail MotherOfGodChurch@yahoo.com.  Advertisement space is only $25 for a quarter page; $50 for half page; $100 for a whole page.
