Yaldo(o|u) Chaldean Family Reunion Open Invitation
By Camp Chaldean :: 7781 Views

Michigan, USA - No one would dare refute that Chaldeans often come from large families.  The Chaldean culture values the importance of family virtues and cooperation.   Chaldeans often hold large family gatherings, dinners, and celebrations.

One family is taking the family gathering up a few notches.  The Yaldo(o|u) family is hosting their 2008 family reunion at Camp Chaldean in Michigan beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 27.  Nearly a thousand family members are expected to attend the family gathering.

Saher Yaldo, a leading community entrepreneur and committed volunteer for the Chaldean Voice radio station has been instrumental in the reunion.  “We invite everyone with Yaldo(o|u) blood pulsing through their veins.  This includes all children and grandchildren whose mother or father are Yaldo(o|u), says Saher.

“Guests are also welcome to invite close friends and relatives as well. We will be holding a special Mass for all our guests led by Fr. Basel Yaldo of St. George Church at 4 p.m. and we have games, gifts, and more as well.”

The family reunion is the first for Camp Chaldean and promises to be a grand affair.  The Yaldo(o|u) Family Reunion will feature a special Mass, barbeques, family games, a magic show, memory t-shirts, photo swap, family tree book, memory table, goodie bags, organized games, and more.  Families and guests are asked to bring their own picnic baskets, coolers, barbeque items, lawn chairs, and any other item they often take to a park or lake.

“With nearly a thousand people expected to attend the reunion we hope it will help kick-off a long tradition of family reunions at our community camp,” says Camp Chaldean spokesperson Robert Kakos.  “The Chaldean community is very strong and it is important to every Chaldean, young or old, that we grow stronger.  America is offering a unique set of challenges that we as a community must overcome.  Being a more unified, cooperative, and faithful community is the answer.  Organizing a family reunion is a powerful ingredient to the glue that keeps our community strong and reinforces the importance of these values.  We are honored by the Yaldo(o|u)’s that they have decided to lead the effort at Camp Chaldean.”

Protect The Head And Prevent Traumatic Brain Injury
One of the most common questions I am asked after someone hits their head is, "How serious is this bump on my head and should I make an appointment?" Head injuries are the result of trauma to the scalp, skull or brain. Concussion, the most common type of traumatic brain injury (TBI), is an injury that occurs after a blow to the head and results in a temporary loss of consciousness. Some head injuries may appear to be mild but research has shown that concussions may have serious, long-term effects, especially when there are repeated injuries... <p><a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/rPszDoq26PbmdjfHjaFhfFeB3z4/0/da"><img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/rPszDoq26PbmdjfHjaFhfFeB3z4/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"></img></a><br/> <a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/rPszDoq26PbmdjfHjaFhfFeB3z4/1/da"><img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/rPszDoq26PbmdjfHjaFhfFeB3z4/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"></img></a></p><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/mnt/healthnews/~4/9QNIaMjUCLo" height="1" width="1"/>

Scientists Solve Puzzle Of Chickens That Are Half Male And Half Female
A puzzle that has baffled scientists for centuries - why some birds appear to be male on one side of the body and female on the other - has been solved by researchers. The research, which involved studying rare naturally occurring chickens with white (male) plumage on one side and brown (female) plumage on the other, sheds new light on the sexual development of birds. It was previously thought that sex chromosomes in birds control whether a testis or ovary forms, with sexual traits then being determined by hormones... <p><a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/U83Px3UIdM2X_KOG63GBmJIRD1k/0/da"><img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/U83Px3UIdM2X_KOG63GBmJIRD1k/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"></img></a><br/> <a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/U83Px3UIdM2X_KOG63GBmJIRD1k/1/da"><img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/U83Px3UIdM2X_KOG63GBmJIRD1k/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"></img></a></p><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/mnt/healthnews/~4/0e8tgZABhZc" height="1" width="1"/>

Sequencing Genome Of Entire Family Reveals Parents Give Kids Fewer Gene Mutations Than Was Thought
Researchers at the University of Utah and other institutions have sequenced for the first time the entire genome of a family, enabling them to accurately estimate the average rate at which parents pass genetic mutations to their offspring and also identify precise locations where parental chromosomes exchange information that creates new combinations of genetic traits in their children. Led by scientists at the Seattle-based Institute for Systems Biology, the study, published March 11, 2010 in Science Express, sequenced the entire genome of a family of four - the parents, daughter, and son... <p><a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/3RFHoRaKXte3YnRMh70aOOcX0nw/0/da"><img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/3RFHoRaKXte3YnRMh70aOOcX0nw/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"></img></a><br/> <a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/3RFHoRaKXte3YnRMh70aOOcX0nw/1/da"><img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/3RFHoRaKXte3YnRMh70aOOcX0nw/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"></img></a></p><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/mnt/healthnews/~4/a8N8Wom0rus" height="1" width="1"/>

Cholesterol Targets For Heart Patients Not Being Met
Only half of all patients at high risk of heart disease are given correct targets for lowering their cholesterol levels according to a study of 25,250 patients in Germany published online 11 March in the European Heart Journal [1]. Weighing Parents' Preferences And Risk Factors When Choosing Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC) Or Plan A Repeat Cesarean
An independent panel convened this week by the National Institutes of Health confronted a troubling fact that pregnant women currently have limited access to clinicians and facilities able and willing to offer a trial of labor after previous cesarean delivery because of so-called VBAC bans. Many, even those at low risk for complications in a trial of labor, are not offered this option. Confidence Is Key To Gauging Impressions We Make
The gift of "seeing ourselves as others see us" is particularly beneficial when we judge how we've made a first impression - in a job interview, during a sales pitch or on a first date. Yet, many come away from these situations with at best a vague notion of how that first impression was perceived or at worst no clue at all. Now, psychologists at Washington University in St. Louis and Wake Forest University have tested people in first impression settings in the laboratory and have found that confidence makes all the difference in knowing whether you've hit a homerun or struck out... <p><a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/nS9b75rrjkFpw_z3oS0I3xznZlA/0/da"><img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/nS9b75rrjkFpw_z3oS0I3xznZlA/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"></img></a><br/> <a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/nS9b75rrjkFpw_z3oS0I3xznZlA/1/da"><img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/nS9b75rrjkFpw_z3oS0I3xznZlA/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"></img></a></p><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/mnt/healthnews/~4/w9UmXnZ8PN0" height="1" width="1"/>

Stress, emotions, health literacy and even the patient's condition itself can create a barrier for good communication between patients and their doctors. Studies show patients forget as much as 80% of their discussion with their doctor by the time they reach the parking garage. That's why the American College of Cardiology (ACC) is embracing interactive technology as a way to improve patient communication... <p><a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/oL3eNKbheb7nq8z4Hr_NqzC-0Tw/0/da"><img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/oL3eNKbheb7nq8z4Hr_NqzC-0Tw/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"></img></a><br/> <a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/oL3eNKbheb7nq8z4Hr_NqzC-0Tw/1/da"><img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/oL3eNKbheb7nq8z4Hr_NqzC-0Tw/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"></img></a></p><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/mnt/healthnews/~4/EU5uQG1bfBY" height="1" width="1"/>

Joint Role Of Obesity And Alcohol In Increasing The Risk Of Liver Disease
Obesity and alcohol act together to increase the risk of liver disease in both men and women according to two studies published on bmj.com today. These findings have significant clinical and public health implications. In the UK, rates of liver disease and obesity are increasing. Alcohol is a major cause of liver cirrhosis. In addition, recent evidence indicates that excess body weight may also play a role. Researchers from the University of Oxford examined in the first study the link between body mass index (BMI) and liver cirrhosis. What Is Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating)? What Causes Hyperhidrosis?
Hyperhidrosis, also known as polyhidrosis or sudorrhea means excessive sweating; sweating too much. Hidrosis means sweating, while hyper means too much, or excessively. The excessive sweating may be either localized in specific parts of the body, or generalized (everywhere). Most cases of excessive sweating tend to start during a person's teenage years - their adolescence. The most active regions of perspiration include the hands, feet, armpits and the groin area because of a relatively high concentration of sweat glands in those areas... <p><a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/xCFLez1srOLF6fXuAcG0TL1lj1k/0/da"><img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/xCFLez1srOLF6fXuAcG0TL1lj1k/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"></img></a><br/> <a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/xCFLez1srOLF6fXuAcG0TL1lj1k/1/da"><img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/xCFLez1srOLF6fXuAcG0TL1lj1k/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"></img></a></p><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/mnt/healthnews/~4/YSucymjxflE" height="1" width="1"/>
